Those who use it say it calms nerves and helps improve communication and compassion. It is often used by those looking for better relationships but don't want to lose self-awareness.

The name kyanite comes from the Greek kyanos, which means "blue" and indicates its most common color. Despite this, it can also appear in other colors, such as green, colorless or brown. This stone is also called Disthenium, a name originating from the Greek sthenos and meaning "two forces", as it has different hardnesses on each side (a rare characteristic).
